Radiation Diagnostics

General InformationDoctors

Ultrasound examination (US) is a safe, non-invasive, and radiation-free diagnostic method. It uses sound waves to generate real-time images of internal organs.

With ultrasound, it is possible to:

  • identify causes of pain, swelling, or infection in internal organs;

  • assess the condition of the fetus during pregnancy;

  • evaluate brain structures and hip joints in infants.

At Sağlam Ailə Medical Center, ultrasound examinations are performed for the following organs and systems:

  • Abdominal organs

  • Urinary and excretory system

  • Hip joint screening in newborns

  • Female reproductive system: uterus and ovaries (transabdominal and transvaginal), folliculometry (transabdominal and transvaginal), mammary glands

  • Male reproductive system: prostate gland (transabdominal)

  • Endocrine system: thyroid gland, adrenal glands

Most ultrasound scans do not require special preparation. However, for clearer imaging of certain areas, specific guidelines must be followed:

  • Abdominal ultrasound should be performed after fasting for 8–12 hours. This applies to the gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen.

  • For gynecological (transabdominal) and urological ultrasound, the bladder should be full.

  • For transvaginal gynecological ultrasound, the bladder should be empty.

  • For breast ultrasound, it is recommended to schedule the exam between days 7–9 of the menstrual cycle.

Radiological Diagnostics

Radiological diagnostics is one of the most advanced and technologically developed branches of modern medicine. It allows for highly accurate visualization of internal structures and aids in early and precise diagnosis. This field encompasses X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and other radiologic imaging technologies.

Through radiological diagnostics, diseases can be detected at early stages, enabling the development of more effective treatment plans.

Radiologist

A radiologist is a specialist trained in this complex medical field, using imaging technologies to diagnose diseases and provide essential information for treatment. These specialists interpret results from X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI scans to analyze the internal structures of the body.

Their role is vital in:

  • early detection of oncological diseases,

  • trauma assessment,

  • identifying abnormalities in internal organs.

Radiologists do more than just interpret images – they also collaborate closely with physicians from other specialties to provide comprehensive patient care and clinical recommendations.

With technological advancements, the role of radiologists in modern medicine has grown significantly. The methods they use offer accurate results, improving the effectiveness of treatment processes. If you are experiencing any health concerns or require medical imaging, you can consult the radiologists at Sağlam Ailə to benefit from professional diagnostic services.
