Abdominal Ultrasound (Abdominal USG):
Patient must come on an empty stomach and with a full bladder
No coffee before the exam (it contracts the gallbladder)
During the scan, the following organs are examined: liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, bladder, and ureters
Urological and Gynecological Transabdominal USG:
A full bladder is required
In urological USG, kidneys, bladder, ureters are examined. For men, prostate gland is also assessed
Transvaginal Gynecological USG:
Requires an empty bladder
Folliculometry:
Used to monitor ovulation, usually performed on days 10, 12, and 14 of the menstrual cycle
Neurosonography (NSG):
Conducted in infants with open fontanelles to evaluate brain structures
Thymus Gland Ultrasound:
Recommended for children under 2 years of age
